This month Jon and I have been navigating our way through the “stay-at-home” order in place in our state. It hasn’t been an easy road, but we have been focusing on nesting and creating a more relaxing atmosphere in our home. We have been working on building a nursery for our baby girl (which I cannot wait to share) and have been browsing and slowly adding new pieces to our living room. We also can’t wait to update lighting on our first floor. Lots of new things to come and lots of home goals for the upcoming year.
I wanted to share a few things that I am loving lately…
First things first is skincare. Since being pregnant, I have struggled with hormonal acne and have completely changed my skincare routine. I’ve discovered new products that are natural and have 100% changed my skin with only a few uses. A new company that I discovered is Ghost Democracy. This company focuses on clean ingredients with less chemicals and high potency active ingredients. Their prices are also incredible for the amount of product that you get and the percentages of the active ingredients in each product. I purchased two serums from them and after only a few uses have seen dramatic changes in my skin. They are also currently doing 20% off of all 75$ purchase and I would definitely recommend trying them out.
The first product I tried is their Floodgate Serum. This is a hyaluronic acid (HA) serum that everyone should have added to their skincare regimen. HA adds a huge amount of moisture to your skin while it also firms and smooths.
The second product I tried is the Lightbulb Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is great to add to your skincare routine since it fades hyper-pigmentation from sun damage, aging or acne scaring. This serum is also super similar to the cult favorite Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum. This is a pretty pricey serum and after trying it out I wasn’t blown away. The Lightbulb Serum also has a higher percentage of vitamin C and I love that it contains bakuchiol which is nature’s retinol. Since you can’t use retinol during pregnancy this is a really awesome alternative for my fellow pregnant mamas or anyone looking to switch to natural products.
The last product that I added to my skincare routine is a natural eye serum by Farmaesthetics. I absolutely loved this product after two uses. For years I have had dark bags under my eyes and although this is partially genetic, this eye serum has helped tremendously. I also love how light and cooling it is. You can snag this power punching eye gel here.
I have lately been nostalgic of our wedding and have lately been wearing the scent that I wore on our wedding day. Jo Malone has been a long time favorite of mine and their Pomegranate Noir perfume brings back such memories. It has been great to add that scent to my day to day routines at home. Neimans is also currently running a 25% off beauty sale so all Jo Malone perfumes are a great price. You can shop my other favorite scents here and here.
Since being home I have been diving into more books and I want to start growing a Current Cravings book club. I am a true gemini and need to read multiple books at once in order to keep my interest. However, one book lately has completely enthralled me is Kate Quinn’s The Alice Network. I don’t want to say too much, but this book grabbed me from the first page. It is set in WWI and WWII Europe and has two heroines whose lives intersect to follow a common goal. I have a few other books in my current book stack that you can check out here.
